The ultimate in luxury is now on the market here in the U.S. and around the world: the 2015 Aston Martin DB9. Be prepared to pay a hefty sum for this grand touring automobile at prices nearing $200,000 for most models. Available in coupe or convertible, the car comes with a V-12, 5-9-liter engine that puts out 510 horsepower. Paired with a six-speed automatic shifter, this rear-wheel drive beauty pushes out 457 pound-feet of torque. The DB9’s sleek lines carry over into the interior as well. Trimmed in fine leather and wood, the car provides comfortable seating for up to four passengers. The car’s adaptive suspension provides plenty of comfort for driver and passengers alike, its smooth handling of bumpy roads making even long trips pleasurable. Drivers won’t be quite as comfortable, however, when they pull up to the pump and see that the car has gulped gas to the tune of only 13 miles to the gallon in the city. Not much better on the open road, the DB9 only gets 19 miles per gallon even on the highway. Yet, of course, if you’re paying nearly $200K for a car, you probably won’t mind a few dollars more every time you stop to fuel. Which will be often. Don’t buy this car if you’re trying to reduce your carbon footprint. You might as well fly. At only 4.6 seconds to 60 miles per hour, the car’s acceleration is jet-quick. The 2015 Aston Martin DB9 has several safety features, including anti-lock brakes, stability control, front- and side-impact airbags, and, of course, a device that will disable the ignition if someone uses a key other than those provided from the manufacturer. A good idea if your car is worth more than many people’s homes. Not surprisingly, even the standard version of the car comes with a slew of amenities, including heated front seats, a state-of-the-art navigation system, a 700-watt audio system, a rear camera, and parking sensors fore and aft. Options include an option in which you can swap the standard 2 + 2 seating for only two seats, as well as satellite radio, color contrast interior stitching and piping. For those with the money to buy this stunner, the 2015 Aston Martin DB9 promises buyers years of pleasure driving on the open road. It truly lives up to its name as a grand touring vehicle.
